Entry Requirements

120 UCAS points with a minimum of 80 points from A Levels of equivalent BTEC National Diploma grade PPP, BTEC National Certificate grade MP.

Mature students considered with relevant work and life experience.

For non-EU students an IELTS 6 is required or equivalent University of Wolverhampton qualification.

Applicants will also be required to provide a satisfactory reference. Those meeting the entry requirements may be shortlisted for a portfolio review.

How Is The Course Delivered

The course provides a range of experiences in the practices and demands of digital video production which will prepare students for employment in commercial video or related industries.  It will enhance the employability of students who already have some professional experience and prepare students for optional further study.
 

On successful completion of the course:

You will be a competent video maker with practical skills in video photography, sound, editing and streaming media; and experience in various commerical video programme areas.

You will have developed effective methods of working with your peers and with clients and abilities in analysis of commercial video.

You will have gained significant experience from work-based learning and placement opportunities.

How Will I Be Assessed

Assessment is varied and includes opportunites for self and peer assessment as well as more traditional work-based production and written assignments. 

What Can I Do After The Course

Graduates will be prepared for one or more media production roles (production, direction, editing, camera / lighting, sound) and will be suited to fill entry-level posts in the video industries, with subsequent progression to more advanced levels.  Alternatively, students may choose to continue their studies by progressing onto a one-year full-time top-up BA (Hons) course at the University of Wolverhampton.
