How To Apply

How Is The Course Delivered

The module explores the history of child protection and relevant legislation and policy.  You will learn how to recognise signs of abuse and how to appropriately respond to concerns.  The module focuses on roles within schools and how to work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure pupil well being.  This involves studying the theories of how young people react to stress and change, how to empower individuals and give pupils a voice.

Skills & Qualifications
You will gain the confidence and experience to work independently with pupils in primary education, building on your existing professional experiences.  20 credits towards the foundation degree:

Supporting Children in Primary Education NQF Level 4/5 with University of Wolverhampton.

Who is it for?
Teaching Assistants or support staff, in primary schools, wishing to progress into teaching or to gain credits towards a foundation degree or full degree.  Students will need Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or relevant level 3 qualification.

How will it be delivered?
Twilight classroom based sessions with some online learning.
