How To Apply

Entry Requirements

Successful interview & one of the following:

A minimum PPP on a relevant National Diploma
Two A Levels Grade E or above
Mature students will be considered in light of relevant work and life experience
For non-EU students an IELTS 6 is required

How Is The Course Delivered

This course will prepare you with the essential managerial and technical skills necessary to be a successful manager in the hospitality business.  This is a two year course leading to the internationally recognised HND and provides students with a well-rounded, interdisciplinary knowledge in theoretical and practical levels of management.

You will have the opportunity to study modules on: the contemporary hospitality industry; finance in the hospitality industry and customer service. Trips include visits to Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Birmingham and Marco Pierre White’s steak house. Residential trips include visits to London and Paris. Students are currently fundraising to support an exciting final year trip to New York. These trips support the Contemporary Hospitality Industry, Food & Beverage Operations and Customer Care units.

How Will I Be Assessed

Coursework assignments are assessed throughout the year. There is no examination.

What Can I Do After The Course

Many students take up positions of responsibility in all areas of the Hospitality and Catering Industry, although it is also possible to continue within education to achieve a BA (Hons) top-up degree, through one year at university. Employment prospects are very good indeed.
