Entry Requirements

120 UCAS points including at least one A Level together with a grade C GCSE in English and Mathematics or BTEC National Diploma in a related discipline.

Mature students considered in light of relevant work and life experience.

For non-EU students an IELTS 6 is required or equivalent University of Wolverhampton qualification.

How Is The Course Delivered

This is an ideal programme of study if you are interested in a career in the uniformed public services and related sectors. This course is also suitable if you are currently working in a related profession and want to enhance your existing knowledge and skills.

You will study a wide range of topics, covering practical aspects of uniformed public services through topics such as emergency planning as well as providing you with a sound academic grounding.

Team work and team bonding is an essential element of the course and groups take part in an energetic, fun indoor paintballing trip to help with progress.

How Will I Be Assessed

A variety of methods are used throughout the course including coursework assignments, practical projects, tests and examinations. 

What Can I Do After The Course

Successful completion of the course could lead to a career in the emergency services for example the police force or fire service.  Alternatively you may consider a career in the prison service, probation service, or working for the courts and the security industry but your options are not limited to these areas.

This degree develops skills which are appropriate to a range of careers including investigation with branches of Revenue and Customs, Immigration, Social Security Services; Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health and allied areas.

Following the completion of the Foundation Degree, students will be able to 'top-up' their qualification to BA (Hons) degree level in Uniformed Public Services at the University of Wolverhampton in just one year full-time or two years part-time.
