Many learners faced with the increased costs will choose to stay closer to home, work and family and so flexible, part time study could be the right choice for you. 


It is important to remember that whatever study option you choose,  there are no up front fees for you to pay.

 

The Affordable Option

 

Course Costs are as follows:

 

HNC / HND

Part-Time: £2250

Full-Time: £4500

 

FOUNDATION DEGREE

Full-Time: £5500

 

All costs are per year

 

Student Finance


You need to wait until early 2012 to apply for student finance for 2012/13 courses. 
To cover the costs of studying you can apply for:

• Tuition Fee Loan - to cover your tuition fees in full (Full Time & Part Time Students)
• Maintenance Loan - for living costs, like rent (Full Time Students only)
• Maintenance Grant - if your household income is less than £42,600 per annum (Full Time Students only)
• Scholarships and Bursaries from colleges and universities
• Extra financial help - if you have a disability or children or adults depending on you

 

Loan Repayment?


Full Time students have to pay back any loans plus interest once you complete your course and start earning more than £21,000 a year. 

Part time students who earn over £21,000 a year have to start paying back their loans after three years even if their course hasn't finished.

 

Do I Have To Pay Back Grants?


You do not have to pay back any grants, scholarships or bursaries that you may receive for your course.
